Jesus often told people, “Your sins are forgiven.” What a stunning statement.

Forgiveness is powerful, but so is unforgivness.

When we refuse to forgive people who have wronged us, we ironically and powerfully hurt ourselves.

Think about it, when we refuse to forgive, we are giving the person who hurt us the right to hurt us all over again and again,
in our memory.

Beyond the healing that comes to our hearts by forgiven others.
We are taught in scripture to forgive.

Forgivness is not about forgetting or excusing the offense, but it is a conscious decision to release the resentment and anger from our hearts.

As challenging as it may be, choosing to forgive aligns with the teaching in the Bible and reflects the unconditional forgiveness that is extended to us by God.

We need to understand first that there is no limit to which we are to forgive.
We are not the ones who get to decide who is worthy and who is not.

We are called to forgive those who hurt us.

Ephesians 4:32
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.

Peter asked Jesus in the book of Matthew 18: 21-22 if forgiveness was to be offered seven times? And Jesus answered, “I tell you, not just seven times but seventy-seven times.”

Throughout the Bible, God is portrayed as merciful and forgiving. His forgiveness of humanity’s sin through His Son, Jesus Christ, serves as the ultimate example of forgiveness.

Colossians 3:13
Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.

Luke 6:37
Do not judge, and you will not be judged.
Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned.
Forgive, and you will be forgiven.

Dear Father in heaven,

Thank You for this beautiful day.
Thank You for my family and friends.

Father, thank You for Your mercy over our lives.

Thank You for showing us every step we need to take.

Thank You for always going before us and being our guard.

Thank You that when we are hurting, we can come to You and work through our pain.

Thank You that we can trust You with our life, because You made us in Your image.

Thank You for forgiving us our sins.

Help us to commit to forgiving others who have hurt us.

Thank You for always being here for us, leading us with kindness and gentleness.

Thank You for showing us that we do not have to carry the bitterness and anger we sometimes harbor in our hearts because we can choose to forgive and lay the rest at Your feet.

Thank You for loving us.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

Have a blessed day🙏
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
