“Talents”

Did you know that God has uniquely gifted each of us with talents and abilities meant to serve others and glorify Him.
Whether that is teaching, serving, encouraging, or leading, and we are called to use these gifts faithfully.
These gifts are not for our personal gain.

Romans 12:6-8
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, whether prophesy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, let us wait on our ministering, or he that teacteth, on teaching; or he who exhorteth, on exhortation; he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6
There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all.

Matthew 5:14-16
You are the light of the world.
A town built on a hill can not be hidden.
Niether do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl, instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.
In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds, and glorify your Father in heaven.

1 Peter 4:10-11
As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. If anyone speaks, let him speak as the oracles of God.
If anyone ministers, let him do it as with the ability God supplies, that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom belong the glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen

I know we sometimes struggle with trying to identify our gift…
So I pray and ask God to show me.
I look for opportunities in church, or when I’m out just running errands, or even at home in my daily life where I might be able to do something or say something that might bless someone else, and Glorify my Father.

Some examples of using our gifts might look like this.

A gift of encouragement.
We might offer a kind word to someone on the street or in  a store. Or maybe by a text or a phone call.
A prayer…

A gift of teaching.
We might consider leading a Bible study or mentoring others.

A gift of wisdom.
We might offer sound advice to our family or friends.

A gift of hospitality.
We might create a welcoming environment by opening our home for Bible study or fellowship.

A gift of singing.
We might be a part of the worship team at church.

A gift of giving.
We might look for ways to bless others, whether it is financial or through our time and resources.
Maybe by helping them in their home or at work with something they could not accomplish on their own.

A gift of a nurse or counselor.
We might provide emotional or physical care, using our skills to bring comfort and restoration to those who are struggling.

Our gifts often align with our strengths.

In Matthew 25:14-30
Jesus illustrates that God expects us to invest and multiply what He has given us, rather than burying it in fear of neglect.

When we use our gifts, we demonstrate God’s love in action.

God wants you to use your gifts…
God loves you ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

I come before You with a heart full of gratitude. Thank You for this day, another opportunity to walk in Your light and to cherish the blessings You have given me.

I am so grateful for my husband, for our home, for our fur babies, and for the gift of life itself.

You sustain each one of us, You guide us, and You remind us daily of Your unfailing presence.

Thank You for our journey with You, for the wisdom found in Your Word, and for the peace that comes from knowing You.

Your grace is sufficient, Your mercy is endless, Your forgiveness restores, and Your love never fails.

Father, I ask that You reveal to us how we might be a blessing to others.

Show us how to use the gifts and talents You have placed within us to serve, uplift, and encourage those around us.

May we be a reflection of Your love, a source of inspiration and strength to others.

Let our words, actions, and hearts align with what is pleasing and acceptable to You.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

Have a blessed day 🙏
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
