“When Your Heart Feels Far: God Still Calls You Close”
There are seasons when staying committed to reading God’s Word or talking with Him feels harder than it should.
Not because we do not love Him, but because life presses in from every side.
Work becomes stressful.
Relationships feel strained.
Finances tighten. The car breaks down. Our bodies grow tired. Our minds feel overwhelmed.
And slowly, almost without noticing we place our relationship with God on the sidelines. It is not intentional. It is human.
But then comes the spiral.
The self condemnation.
The quiet fear that maybe we have disappointed God,
or that He is distant now,
or that we have somehow “messed up” our faith.
Do not believe this.
None of it is true.
God has not moved,
He is still near.
Even when our hearts feel sluggish or distracted, God remains steady.
God waits, not with anger, but with compassion.
God listens, not with impatience, but with love.
God’s Word still speaks.
God’s presence still comforts, and God’s strength still holds.
These moments of discouragement are not proof of weak faith.
They are invitations to discover the strength of God’s eternal Word and the constancy of His presence.
Here’s a simple step we can take drawing back towards Him.
Choose one verse.
Just one. A verse that speaks to your heart.
Write it down. Memorize it.
Make it your phone wallpaper. Keep it where your eyes can fall on it throughout the day.
Let that verse become a small doorway back into His presence. A reminder that God is not far.
A whisper that God is still speaking. A light guiding your steps when your faith feels shaky.
As we keep God’s Word before us, something begins to shift. Quietly,
gently. Almost unnoticed at first. We will find ourselves walking closer to God again. Not because we tried harder, but because God drew us back with love.
Jerimiah 33:3
“Call to Me, and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.”
God hears, God answers,
God reveals, and
Oh, how God loves us ❤️
Dear Father in heaven,
Thank You for this beautiful day and for the assurance that You are always near.
When our hearts fear that You are distant, remind us of Your Word that says You never leave us.
When guilt whispers that we have failed, let the cross speak louder.
When discouragement settles in, strengthen us to stand on Your promises.
Let Your Word be life to us
a lamp to our feet, a light to our path, and a foundation beneath our weary steps.
Quiet our racing thoughts.
Silence the voice of self‑condemnation.
Soften our anxious hearts and open our ears to hear You.
As we move through our day doing chores, working, caring for others,
make us aware of Your presence.
Give us courage to pause our own plans and share Your love whenever You open the door.
Teach us to walk in Your ways today and always.
In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.
Have a blessed day.
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
