“Facing Forward”
Do we know what the Armor of God is and the power of facing forward?
Read Ephesians 6:10-18
“Finally, my brethren, be strong in the LORD and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil…”
Paul outlines six pieces of spiritual armor:
1. Belt of Truth.
2. Breastplate of Righteousness.
3. Shoes of the Gospel of Peace.
4. Shield of Faith.
5. Helmet of Salvation.
6. Sword of the Spirit. (Word of God)
Each piece is designed for forward-facing battle. Notably, there is no armor for the back. This detail speaks volumes.
God never intended for His children to turn and flee. We are called to stand, to face our battles, and to trust that He fights with us and for us. When we run, we expose our most vulnerable side. But when we stand firm, clothed in His truth, righteousness, peace, faith, salvation, and Word, we are covered, empowered, and protected.
This is not a call to reckless bravery.
It is a call to faithful courage, knowing that –
God goes before us.
Deuteronomy 31:8
And the LORD, He is the one who goes before you. He will not leave you, nor forsake you; do not fear or be dismayed.
God surrounds us.
Psalm 125:2
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds His people from this time forth and forever.
God fights for us.
Exodus 14:14
The LORD will fight for you and you shall hold your peace.
David did not wear Saul’s armor. He did not turn away from the giant. He ran toward the battle, armed with faith and the name of the LORD.
1 Samuel 17:45
Then David said to the Philistine, “You come to me with a sword, with a spear, and with a javelin. But I come to you in the name of the LORD of hosts…”
David’s confidence was not in physical armor. It was in the spiritual armor of trust and obedience. He faced the enemy head on, and God delivered victory.
I remember a season in my life when I felt surrounded by fear, relational wounds, financial uncertainty, and spiritual fatigue.
I wanted to retreat. But the Spirit whispered, “There’s no armor for your back. Stand.” So I stood. I prayed. I spoke truth over lies. And slowly, the enemy’s grip loosened. Not because I was strong, but because I was covered and God was fighting with me.
Oh, how God loves us ❤️
Dear Father in heaven,
Thank You for the armor You provide.
Perfectly fitted for every battle we face.
Father, teach us to stand firm, not in our strength, but in Yours.
Remind us that retreat is not our portion, for You have not given us a spirit of fear.
Help us to face our giants like David, with faith as our shield and Your Word as our sword.
May we declare today that we will not run, and we will not hide but we will stand, knowing You are with us.
Thank You, Father, for covering us, and fighting for us.
In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.
Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
