“Daily Christian Living”

Matthew 23:1-12 teaches a deeply needed truth for daily Christian living – humility is the posture that keeps our hearts aligned with Christ, and pride is the quiet danger that can make even sincere believers drift into self‑importance. Jesus is not only correcting the Pharisees – He is protecting us.

Jesus speaks to the crowds and His disciples, acknowledging that the scribes and Pharisees “sit in Moses’ seat” – they teach the Scriptures, but they do not live them. They love titles, recognition, and spiritual superiority. Their religion is heavy on appearance but light on obedience.

The heart of this passage is verse 12:
“Whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.”  (This is the spiritual law of the Kingdom.)

Jesus warns against becoming someone who speaks truth but does not walk in it.

In  our daily life this looks like:
* Giving advice we ourself do not follow.
* Expecting others to change while we stay the same.
* Knowing Scripture but not letting it soften our own attitudes.

Humility begins with consistency and letting God shape us privately before we speak publicly. The Pharisees loved being seen as holy.

Today, this can show up in our lives as:
* Serving so others notice.
* Posting spiritual things for approval of others, Not for the glory of God.
* Wanting to be the “strong one” instead of admitting weakness.

Jesus invites us to serve quietly, sincerely, and without needing applause.

Is God the Only One we seek to please…

And last humility is not weakness.
It is strength under God’s control.

In our daily life humility looks like:
* Listening more than speaking.
* Serving without being asked.
* Letting others go first.
* Not needing to always  be right.
* Being teachable.

Humility is the soil where spiritual fruit grows.

Matthew 23:1-12 calls us to a quiet, sincere walk in our faith. One where our hearts match our words, our service is genuine, and our identity is rooted in God alone.

The way up in God’s Kingdom is always down. Choosing humility, choosing servanthood, and choosing Christlike love. When we humble ourselves, God Himself lifts us in His timing and in His way.

Oh, how God loves us ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

Thank You for the words of Your Son, Jesus Christ that guide our hearts back to humility and sincerity.

Search us and reveal any pride, any desire for recognition, or any place where our actions do not match our faith.

Teach us to walk gently, to serve quietly, and to love deeply.

Help us to choose the low place where Christ is found.

Shape our character so that our daily life reflects Your heart.

Exalt only what You desire to exalt within us, and let everything else fall away.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
