These verses that I am sharing with you today John identifies Jesus as the Lamb of God. John does not say that Jesus covers sin, but rather He takes it away.
Jesus removes it, carries it, and bears it.
John tells us that Jesus existed before him. And then John describes the Spirit that descended like a dove from heaven and stayed on Jesus. John was told by God that this would be how he would know that this was and is the Son of God.
What a testimony!
And then we read John 3:16 the heartbeat of the Gospel.
God did not just feel love.
God gave love, God sent love, and love was sacrificed on the cross for our sins.
I end this with John 3:34-35 where we read that Jesus was sent by God. Jesus spoke the words of God and how much God loved His Son, and put all things into His hands.
John 1:29-34
29 The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!
30 This is He of whom I said, “After me comes a Man who is preferred before me, for He was before me.
31 I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.
32 And John bore witness saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.
33 I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.
34 And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”
Oh, how God loves us ❤️
John 3:16
16 That He sent His only begotten Son, that who oever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.
John 3:34-35
34 For He whom God has sent speaks the words of God, for God does not give the Spirit by measure.
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.
Dear Father in heaven,
I thank You for the gift of this day and for the beauty of Your Word.
Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus Christ who takes away the sin of the world.
Thank You for loving us so deeply that through our faith in believing He is Your Son we may have everlasting life.
Father, we honor Your Son, the One who speaks Your Words and whom You placed all things in His hands.
Father, may our hearts be opened to follow You more closely, and to rest in the salvation You have provided through Jesus Christ, Your Son.
Father, remain on us as You remained on Him.
Fill us without measure.
Strengthen our faith, renew our joy, and let our lips testify that this man Jesus Christ is truly Your Son in whom You are well pleased.
We love You Father.
In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.
Have a blessed day
