“The Sovereignty of God”

The Sovereignty of God is one of Scripture’s most breathtaking Truths and yet one of the most neglected.

We speak often of the Son (as we should, for the Father commands all creation to honor Him), but we sometimes forget that everything begins with the Father.
Without Him, nothing exists. Nothing breathes. Nothing holds together.

Romans 11:36
“For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.

God is not merely powerful.
He is Sovereign. Supreme. Unchallenged. Unthreatened. Unchanging.
And His Sovereignty is not cold or distant. It is loving, purposeful, and deeply personal.

God is Sovereign over all creation.
From the very beginning- “God’s mighty word was spoken and light and life obeyed. His voice commanded the seasons and bounded the ocean shore.”
Scripture affirms this:
Genesis 1:3
“Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light.”
Psalm 33:9
“For He spoke, and it was done; He commanded, and it stood fast.”
Job 38:8–11
“Or who shuts in the sea with doors, When it burst forth and enters from the womb;
When I made the clouds its garment, and thick darkness its swaddling band;
When I fixed My limit for it, and set bars and doors; When I said, ‘This far you may come, but no farther, And here your proud waves must stop.”

God Himself declares that He set the boundaries of the sea.

Creation does not merely exist, it obeys.
The sun rises because He says so.
The oceans stop where He tells them to stop. Every breath we take is borrowed from His goodness.

God is Sovereign over the affairs of men.
“No powers of death nor darkness can change His perfect plan.”
Scripture confirms:
Daniel 2:21
“And He changes the times and seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings, He gives wisdom to the wise and knowledge to those who have understanding.
Proverbs 19:21
“There are many plans in a man’s heart, Nevertheless the LORD’s counsel  that will stand.”

No government, no ruler, no enemy, no circumstance can overturn what God has ordained. His plan is not fragile. His will is not threatened and His purpose stands forever.

God is Sovereign over human pain.
“God exchanges earthly sorrows to gold of heavenly gain.”

This is the mystery of suffering:
God does not waste pain. He transforms it.
Romans 8:28
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose ”
2 Corinthians 4:17
“Our light affliction… is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
Psalm 34:18
“The LORD is near to  those who have a  broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.

Pain is never the end of the story for a child of God. He turns ashes into beauty, sorrow into strength, and trials into a testimony.

God is Sovereign in Salvation.
“He loves us, unworthy us, so much He gave His Son…”
This is the heart of the Gospel:
John 3:16
The Father gave His only begotten Son.
John 3:36
“He who believes in the Son has everlasting life.”

“God is Sovereign and we have nothing without Him. No life, no hope, no future.

From our first breath until our last is a gift from our Father.”

This is why Scripture calls us to daily surrender. Daily obedience. Daily gratitude. And daily seeking.

Our God is Sovereign and oh, how God loves us. ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

Sovereign LORD of all creation,

May we bow before You with reverence and gratitude.

You spoke, and the universe obeyed.

You rule over nations, seasons, storms, and the secret places of our hearts.

Nothing escapes Your sight, nothing changes Your purpose, and nothing compares to Your love.

Teach us to honor You as our Maker and our Sustainer.

Help us to obey You above the world, above people, above our own desires.

Let our lives reflect Your glory, our choices reflect Your will, and our hearts rest in Your Sovereignty.

Thank You for giving Your only begotten Son so that we may have eternal life.

May we never take Your mercy for granted.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
