My heart is stuck in this place of turning back.
My heart is aching for so many people in my life that I see hurting and seeking and not feeling they can find the answers they are looking for through all the chaos and storms and interference that clouds their thoughts and blocks their way.
God is there, He has not forsaken you.
He is waiting…
“When All You Want is God but You do not know how to come back”
This is a study for the wandering, the weary, the broken, and the waiting.
There is a kind of pain that does not show on the outside.
The pain of wanting God but feeling too far away to reach Him.
Many of us carry this quietly. We do not talk about it. We do not know how to explain it. We just feel… stuck.
Some of us remember a time when God felt so close.
We remember a time when prayer flowed so easily.
We remember a time when Scripture made sense to us.
We remember a time when our heart was soft.
But now life has tangled us up.
Circumstances have pulled us in every direction.
Temptations have worn us down.
Disappointments have drained our hope.
And silence has made us question everything.
Deep down inside, we may wonder- How do I get back to God when I do not even know where to start?
One of the most misunderstood truths is this- God never forces Himself into our life.
He never pushes His way into our heart.
He never drags any of us back.
He invites us, He draws us, He whispers to us, and He waits for us.
Scripture says:
James 4:8
“Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.”
Jeremiah 29:13
“You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.”
God responds to movement. Even to the smallest movement.
Even the weakest movement.
Even the trembling, broken, “God, I don’t know what to do” movement.
He is not waiting for perfection. He is waiting for sincerity.
Many of us think our circumstances prove God is to far away to be reached now. But most often, the opposite is true.
The enemy pulls the hardest on us when our heart is trying to turn back toward God.
In our confusion.
In our heaviness.
In our discouragement.
In our feeling of being stuck.
In our thinking that the answers will never, ever come.
These are not signs that God has abandoned us.
These are signs that the battle for our soul is active between the enemy and our God.
This is the Truth we all need to hear…
Circumstances can pull us, but they can not overpower our heart when it is turning toward God.
Not when our heart is crying out. Not when our heart is seeking Him.
Not when our heart says, “Father, I want You more than any of this!!”
Our God is patient.
2 Peter 3:9 tells us:
“The LORD is not slow concerning His promise… but is patient toward you, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.”
God’s “Silence”-
is often His patience.
God’s “Delay”’
is often His mercy.
God’s “Distance”-
is often His protection.
He is not ignoring us.
He is not punishing us.
He is not disappointed in us.
He loves us and He is waiting for the moment our heart turn, truly turns, so He can meet us with grace.
Some of us think we need to fix ourselves first.
Some of us think we need to clean up our life first.
Some of us think we need to earn our way back to God when we have strayed.
But the Gospel says the opposite.
Return first- Healing comes after.
Call first- Strength comes after.
Seek first- Understanding comes after.
God is not asking for perfection. He is asking for honesty.
A simple prayer like this moves heaven…
“God, I want You.
I do not know how to fix this. But I am turning my heart toward You starting this day, this moment.”
That is enough to open the door.
What God wants all of us to know right now is…
That He is not far-
He is near.
That He is not angry-
He is patient.
That He is not silent-
He is waiting.
That He is not rejecting us-He is drawing us.
God is not confused about us-
He knows exactly where we are.
God is not asking for perfection. He is asking only for our heart.
And the moment we turn toward Him, even if it is in weakness, even if it is in fear, even if it is in confusion…
He will run to us. He will receive us. He will restore us. And He will begin again with us.
He hear us, and
Oh, how God loves us ❤️
Dear Father in heaven,
You see every heart reading this.
The ones who feel lost, the ones who feel unworthy, the ones who feel too far gone, and the ones who desperately want to return but do not know how.
Father, You know all of our battles. You know all our burdens. You know all our fears. And You hear the silent cries we never speak aloud.
Draw us with Your mercy.
Break through our confusion.
Quiet the lies of the enemy.
Remind us that You have not moved.
Remind us that Your arms are still open.
Remind us that You respond to the smallest turning of our heart.
Father, give us the courage to take one step toward You.
Give us the strength to call on Your name.
Give us the peace to know You will meet us where we are.
Restore in us what has been broken.
Heal in us what has been wounded.
Renew in us what has grown weary.
And let us feel, even now, that You are near.
In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.
Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
