“This Gospel shall be Preached”

Matthew 24:14
“And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.”

Many people read this verse and immediately jump to timelines, charts, and predictions.

But Jesus was not giving His disciples a countdown clock. He was giving them a mission and a message.

To understand the message, we must first understand who He was talking to and what gospel He Himself preached.

Jesus was speaking directly to His disciples, not to crowds, not to religious leaders, and not to the nations.

They had asked Him privately on the Mount of Olives:

– “What will be the sign of Your coming?”
– “What will be the sign of the end of the age?”

But before He ever answered the “when,” He answered the what.

The message that must go out to the world.

His disciples were the first carriers of this gospel.

The early church continued it.

And today, believers still carry the same message.

This was not a new gospel.
It was the same gospel Jesus Himself preached from the beginning.

Jesus did not preach a gospel about Himself being God in the flesh.

He preached:

The Gospel of the Kingdom.
and…
The Gospel of His Identity as the Son of God.

These two truths are inseparable.

From the very start of His ministry:

Matthew 4:23
“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in there synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease amoung the people.”

Luke 4:43
but He said to them, “I must preach the kingdom of God to the other cities also, because for this purpose I have been sent.”

The gospel Jesus preached was about:

– God’s Kingdom is coming.
– God’s rule will be restored.
– God’s will shall be done on earth.
– The Messiah (the Son of God) is the appointed King.  and…
– Those who believe will inherit eternal life in that Kingdom.

This is the same Kingdom Daniel saw, and the prophets proclaimed, and the apostles continued to preach.

The second part of the gospel is the identity of the King.

John the Baptist declared:
John 1:34
“And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

The Father Himself declared:
Matthew 3:17
And suddenly a voice came from heaven, saying, “This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased.”

Jesus declared:
John 10:36
do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, “I am the Son of God.”

The apostles declared:
Acts 9:20
“Immediately he preached the Christ in the synagogues, that He is the Son of God.”

The gospel is not that Jesus is “God the Son,” a phrase never found in Scripture.

The gospel is that:
– There is one God—the Father.
– Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.
– Through Him we receive life, forgiveness, and entrance into the coming Kingdom.

This is the gospel Jesus said must be preached in all the world.

Because the world must know:

– Who the true God is.
– Who the true King is.
– What Kingdom is coming.
and…
– How to enter it.

This gospel is a witness, and a testimony to every nation that God has appointed His Son as King and Judge, and that eternal life is found in Him.

This is not a message of fear.
This is not a message of speculation.
It is a message of truth, identity, and hope.

The gospel that will be preached in all the world is the same gospel Jesus preached:

The gospel of the Kingdom of God and the truth that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of the living God.

This is the message entrusted to the disciples, carried by the early church, and still proclaimed today.

God gave His only Son, Jesus the Christ and He, Jesus, will reign in God’s kingdom to come as our King and High Priest.

*Look at us today… This Gospel is going out all over the world via our internet.

And soon we will behold Him face to face.

Oh, how God loves us ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

Thank You for sending Your Son, the true Christ, the One You anointed and appointed as King.

Thank You for the gospel of the Kingdom to come, a message of hope, truth, and restoration.

Help us to preach the same gospel Jesus preached.
That You alone are God, and that Jesus is Your beloved Son, the Savior of the world.

Give us boldness, clarity, and compassion as we share this truth with others.

Let our lives be a witness to Your Kingdom and Your love.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
