“God Works All Things for Good”
(Even the Hard Things)
Romans 8:28 carries words of encouragement that has held God’s people through centuries of storms.
v28) All things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose.
This does not mean God prevents every plot, every attack, or every hardship.
It means something far more powerful.
It means God overrules them. It means God bends them. It means God transforms them.
God turns what was meant for evil into the very thing that lifts His children higher.
This is the pattern woven throughout Scripture.
Genesis chapters 30-50
Tells the story of Joseph.
Joseph was betrayed, sold, lied on, and forgotten.
God did not stop the schemes of his jealous brothers or the false accusations of Potiphar’s wife.
But God did take every injustice and weave it into a destiny Joseph could have never reached on his own.
Joseph later said, at,
Genesis 50:20
“But as for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, in order to bring it about as it is this day, to save many people alive.”
The enemy wanted Joseph destroyed.
But God wanted Joseph positioned.
And God won!
In the book of Daniel chapter 6 we read about Daniel’s enemies plotting against him.
They manipulated laws and they schemed in secret. God did not stop their plotting.
But God stopped their success.
Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, yet the lions’ mouths were shut.
What the enemy meant to destroy God used for good.
The king was overwhelmed when he saw Daniel alive and untouched. He publicly honored the God of Daniel and issued a decree to the entire empire that all people were to fear and reference the God of Daniel.
Daniel 6:25-27
Then King Darius wrote: “To all people’s, and nations, and languages that dwell in all the earth: Peace be multiplied to you.
I make a decree that in every dominion of my kingdom men must tremble and fear before the God of Daniel. For He is the living God, and steadfast forever; His kingdom is the one that shall not be destroyed, and His dominion shall endure to the end. He delivers and rescues, and He works signs and wonders in heaven and on earth, who has delivered Daniel from the power of the lions.
And in Daniel chapter 3 we read about the three Hebrew boys- Shadrack, Mishal, and Anbednego. They were thrown into the fire, yet the flames could not burn them.
Again what the enemy meant for evil.
In the end brought glory to God when even the king gave God glory and sent out a decree to the entire kingdom that no one was allowed to speak against their God.
Daniel 3:29
“Therefore I make a decree that any people, nation, or language which speaks anything amiss against the God of Shadrack, Mishal, and Anbednego shall be cut to pieces, and their houses shall be made an ash heap; because their is no other God who can deliver like this.”
God does not say there won’t be trials in our lives. But God says His presence will be with us through them.
And when God steps into the fire with us the fire loses its power.
Now in the book of Job we read about his suffering. This suffering was not punishment. It was spiritual warfare.
The enemy wanted to crush Job.
But God used this very trial to reveal Job’s integrity, deepen his revelation, and restore him double.
The enemy destroys – God rebuilds.
The enemy steals – God restores.
The enemy kills – God resurrects.
In the stories of Paul, he was beaten, imprisoned, shipwrecked, betrayed, and slandered.
Yet he wrote at,
2 Corinthians 4:17
“For iur light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory.”
In the book of Acts we read about the early church. How they were persecuted, scattered, and hunted. Yet everywhere they fled, the gospel spread like wildfire.
The enemy tried to silence them.
But God used the attack to amplify them.
Our trials are not punishment.
Our hardships are not evidence that God is displeased. Our battles are not signs of abandonment.
They are the very places where God is working behind the scenes.
Turning us, shaping us, aligning us, protecting us, and preparing us.
The enemy wants to kill, steal, and destroy.
But our Father in heaven is not the author of our pain.
He is the Redeemer of it.
Remember that No weapon formed against us will prosper.
Isaiah 54:17
“No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is from Me,” says the LORD.
So yes in this ugly world weapons may form, attacks may come, and trials may rise. But they will not prosper.
They will not succeed, and they will not have the final word.
Because God is already working all things. Every tear, every setback, every betrayal, every loss, every closed door together for our good.
Oh, how God loves us ❤️
Dear Father in heaven,
Thank You that You are the God who turns every trial into a testimony.
Thank You that no weapon formed against us can prosper, and no scheme of the enemy can overthrow Your purpose.
When we walk through fire, be our protection.
When we face lions, be our defender.
When we feel pressed, be our strength.
Teach us to trust that You are working in every detail, even the painful ones.
Let every hardship draw us closer to You, deepen our faith, and reveal Your glory in our lives.
May we surrender our timing, may we surrender our fears, and may we surrender our understanding, and may we rest in Your perfect plan.
In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.
Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
