“The Moment That Stops You”

There are moments in life that break through our noise and our rushing and our routines. Moments that make us see again.

One of those moments came to me yesterday from a simple description of someone elses day.

They said,
“I stepped outside for a short while today. Not to a park, not to a field, not to a porch, but into an enclosed space.

Like a cage.
Yet even there… the sky was still above.
The wind still touched my skin, and
a bird still passed by, free.

And this tiny glimpse of creation-  something most of us walk under every single day without noticing became a treasure to this person.

It became freedom. It became beauty, and
it became a gift.

It is crazy how we live surrounded by blessings so constant we stop recognizing them.

The wind brushing our face.
The warmth of sunlight.
The sound of birds.
The ability to walk outside whenever we choose.
The freedom to look up without barriers.
And the simple act of breathing fresh air.

These are miracles wrapped in ordinary clothing.

But when someone loses them even for a short time, they suddenly shine like diamonds.

And this person’s words reminded me of something I should have known all along:

We are standing in gifts we rarely thank God for.

“Scripture That Opens Our Eyes”

Psalm 19:1
The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of His hands.

Acts 17:25
He Himself gives everyone life and breath and everything else.

Lamentations 3:22–23
His mercies are new every morning.

Take time and “Thank God”
Every morning. Not just for the big miracles. Not just for  the answered prayers. But for the sky. For the wind.
For the breath in our lungs. And for the ability to step outside and see what He has made.

We do not miss these simple things because we are ungrateful people.

We miss them because they are always there.

And what is always there becomes invisible.

Until someone reminds us.

Until someone says,
“I saw the sky today, and the sun was brilliant,” and suddenly we realize we have not looked up in weeks.

Until someone says,
“I felt the wind, it was so cool to my skin,” and suddenly we realize we have not paused long enough to feel anything.

Until someone says,
“I saw a bird fly by, it was the prettiest color of blue,” and suddenly we realize we have not noticed the beauty God has placed right in front of us… Everyday…

This is the moment when our gratitude becomes worship. This is the moment when our tears fall because we finally understand:

We have been walking through blessings and we never stopped to just breathe them in.

Not because we are careless but because life is loud.

And God, in His mercy, uses someone else’s limited moments to open our eyes to our unlimited moments.

So may we take a breath today.
May we step outside today.
May we lift our face toward the sky today.
May we feel the wind on our face today.
May we listen for a bird today.
May we let our heart soften today.
May we let our eyes sting with tears if they need to today.
And may we let gratitude rise like worship
in our hearts today.

Because these small things are not small.
They are daily love notes from God.
They are reminders that He is near.

And they are proof that even in a broken world, beauty still breaks through.

Let today be the moment that stops you…

Oh, how God loves us ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

Open our eyes to the gifts we overlook.

Teach us to pause, to breathe, to notice the sky You painted and the wind You send.

Forgive us for rushing past Your daily mercies.

Give us hearts that recognize beauty, even in hard places, and help us to be people who whisper:
“Thank You” for every breath,
“Thank You” for every sunrise,
“Thank You” for every moment of freedom You allow.

Father may gratitude become our worship, and may awareness become our praise.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
