“God is the Father”
Jesus is His only begotten Son…

This study starts in Philippians chapter 2.

I pray that all of you will be giving eyes and ears to see and hear what the scriptures are saying and then a heart willing to except God’s Truth, and of course the voice to ask God to show you what you might not fully understand.

Philippians 2:9–11
Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

**This passage reveals the honor and authority God the Father has given to His Son, Jesus Christ.

It does not say Jesus is God the Father, but rather that God exalted Jesus and gave Him a name above all names.

The confession that “Jesus Christ is Lord” brings glory to God the Father, not to Jesus as God, but to Jesus as Lord, Savior, and King.

Here are other verses that affirm this Truth:

John 17:3
And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

**Here Jesus distinguishes Himself from the Father, calling Him the only true God.

1 Corinthians 8:6
Yet for us there is one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we for Him;
and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and through Him we live.

**One God (the Father), and one Lord (Jesus Christ). They are distinct.

Revelation 3:12
He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and He shall go out no more. I will write on him the name of My God, and the name of the city of My God, the New Juresalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God.
And I will write on him My new name.

**Jesus refers to God as, His God four times in this verse alone showing submission and reverence to the Father.

Acts 2:36
Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly that God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ.

**This verse says that God made Jesus Lord and Christ.  This being a position given, not inherent as God.

Hebrews 1:1-2
God, who at various times and in various ways spoke in time pass to the fathers by prophets, has in these last days spoken to us by His Son, whom He has appointed heir of all things, through whom also He made the worlds;

**These verses say that God has spoken to us by His Son. And His Son is an heir of all things. He is not God.

Hebrews 1:3-4
Who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

**Key prhases…

*Was the brightness of Gods glory…
but not God…
*Was the express image of God…
but not God…
*Sat at the right hand of the Majesty on high… but was not God…
*Became better than the angels, and because of His inheritance was more excellent than they… but not God…

Hebrews 1:5-6
For to which of the angels did He ever say:
“You are My Son,”
“Today I have begotten You.”
And again I will be to Him a Father, And He shall be to Me a Son.

**These two verses do not require explanation.

Hebrews 1:9
Therefore God, Your God, has anointed You with the oil of gladness more than Your companions.”

** Here it says Jesus has a God and His God anointed Him.

This is just a few scriptures that show us
Jesus has a God… the same God we serve Jesus also came to serve.

Philippians 2:9–11
is a powerful declaration of Jesus’ exaltation. It shows that:

**God the Father gave Jesus His authority.

**Jesus is Lord, Savior, and King —
not God the Father.

**Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess Jesus as Lord.

**This confession glorifies God the Father, not Jesus as God, but Jesus as the one whom God has exalted.

This Truth brings clarity:

Jesus is our Redeemer and our King, and He leads us to worship the one true God, His Father and our father, His God and our God.

God gave His only begotten Son,

Oh, how God loves us ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

I thank You for Your Word that brings light and truth.

Father, I pray that all eyes are opened and all  hearts are softened to receive Your revelation.

Father, help us to honor Your Son, Jesus Christ, as our Lord and King, and to glorify You as the one true God, our Father and our Saviors Father. Our God, and our Saviors God.

May every knee bow and every tongue confess, as Your Word says, with understanding and joy confessing He/Your only begotten Son, is Lord.

Father, lead us into deeper truth, and let Your Spirit guide us in love, humility, and obedience.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
