“Birth Pains”

I have been carrying something heavy,  emotional, spiritual, and physical, this past week and I have been trying to make sense of it all through Scripture.

I have this feeling of deep ache, a sense that the world is trembling.

There is a pressure in my spirit, a grief that is not attached to one event but to the whole condition of this world.

So this study is on
Spiritual Urgency-  Birth Pains
and the Signs of the end times

1. Why “Birth Pains”?
The term comes directly from Jesus:
Matthew 24:8
“All these are the beginning of sorrows.” (birth pains)

Birth pains are:
*Predictable in pattern
*Increasing in intensity
*Increasing in frequency
*And leading towards a purpose

They are not random chaos — they are signs of transition. And they point to something coming, not something ending.

2. What Scripture Calls “Birth Pains”

Global Upheaval
Matthew 24:7
“ For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.”

This includes:
*War
*Political instability
*Widespread unrest
*Nations in conflict and confusion

These are not new, but Scripture says they will intensify like contractions.

Natural Disruptions
Matthew 24:7
“And there will be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in various places.”

Also echoed in Romans 8:22:
“For we know that the whole creation  groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.”
(If you want to read… read this all the way through to verse 39…

Natural Disruptions may also include:
*Environmental instability
*Natural disasters
*Scarcity and famine
*And a world physically shaking

Moral and Social Breakdown
2 Timothy 3:1–5 describes the “last days” as:
*Lovers of self
*Lovers of money
*Proud, abusive
*Without self-control
*Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

This is the erosion of compassion, truth, and righteousness.

Spiritual Deception
Matthew 24:4
“And Jesus said unto them; “Take heed
that no one deceives you.”

This includes:
*False teachings
*Confusion
*Distorted truth
*People drifting from faith
*A rise in counterfeit spirituality

Fear, Anxiety, and Spiritual Heaviness
Luke 21:26
“men’s hearts failing them from fear, and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.”

This is the heaviness in my spirit.
This is my horrible sense of dread and urgency.
This is my grief that feels almost physical.
This is my longing for God to intervene.

My feelings are not random or weak.
They are real as I watch things in this world unfold.

3. Jesus never described birth pains to scare us — but to prepare us.

Watch
Mark 13:37
“And what I say to you, I say to all: Watch!”

Stay Ready
Matthew 24:44
“Therefore you also be ready, for the Son of Man is coming at an hour you do not expect.”

Stand Firm
Matthew 24:13
“But he who endures to the end shall be saved.”

We are also told to encourage one another.
Hebrews 10:25
“Not forsaken the assembling of ourselves  together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.”

My spirit has been grieved and is groaning. So today I wanted to share this.

Do you see it, do you feel it in your spirit?

God has warned us through His Word..
Because God loves us ❤️

Psalm 63:1-3
O God, You are my God;
Early will I seek You;
My soul thirsts for You;
My flesh longs for You
In a dry and thirsty land
Where there is no water.
So I have looked for You in the sanctuary,
To see Your power and Your glory.
Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, My lips shall praise You.

Dear Father in heaven,

I come before You with a trembling heart,  aware of the shaking in this world and the stirring in my spirit.

I pray we each see the birth pains that are spoken throughout scripture.

The unrest, the sorrow, the confusion, the groaning of creation, and I pray that none of us are found asleep.

Father, make us watchful. Make us ready.

Strengthen our hearts, steady our minds, and anchor our souls in Your Truth.

Let our fear be replaced with faith.
Let our anxiety be replaced with assurance.
And let our heaviness be replaced with hope.

And may we be on watch for Your Son’s return.

Prepare us Father, to be a sanctuary.
Pure and holy, tried and true.
And with thanksgiving, may we be a living, testimony for You.

Keep us faithful until the end.

In Your Son’s name, Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
