“The Mansion and the Master”

Jesus’ words in Matthew 7:21–23 are some of the most sobering in Scripture:

“Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of My Father who is in heaven.

”We often imagine that being
“a good person” should be enough.
But goodness is not the door.
Relationship is.

It’s like seeing this beautiful mansion:
We can admire the house. We can desire the house. We can even believe we deserve the house.

But unless the Owner knows us, we can not enter this house.

Many acknowledge God’s existence, but they do not walk with Him, listen to Him, or surrender to Him. They want the benefits of the Kingdom without the King.

This is why obedience matters.
Not as a way to earn salvation, but as the evidence that we truly belong to Him.

Jesus does not leave us guessing about how to reach the Father. He gives clear directions:
John 14:6
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

So lets say someone gave us directions to thier house. They tell us there is only one way. But we decide our way is better, faster, easier, and more convenient.
And then we end up lost.

This is the human condition.

We want salvation without surrender, blessing without obedience, and heaven without holiness.

But Jesus is not one of many paths.
He is the path. He wants us to walk with Him, not around Him.

“Belief is acknowledging the throne, but obedience is bowing before the One sitting on it.”

Belief says: “I know God exists.”
Obedience says: “I submit to His authority.”

Belief sees the mansion.
Obedience knocks on the door and says, “Lord, I’m Yours.”

Belief hears the directions.
Obedience follows them.

This is why Jesus said:
John 10:27
“My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.”

To be known by Him is to follow Him.

None of this is about restriction.
It’s about redemption.

“For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…”

God did not give us “one way” to be difficult.

He gave us His Son, Jesus Christ, because He loves us too much to leave us wandering in darkness.

The Way is not a map.The Way is a Person.

And that Person-that Man laid down His life so we could come home.

So I ask myself this-
Do I acknowledge the Father and the Son but not obey the Word?
Have I been trying to reach God “my way” instead of His way?
Do I want the blessings of the Kingdom more than the King Himself?
And what step of obedience can I take today?

Oh, how God loves us ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

Thank You for loving us enough to give us the only Way home through Your Son, Jesus Christ.

Forgive us for the times we have tried to make our own path, our own rules, or our own version of obedience.

Teach us to not only believe in You but to walk with You, listen to You, and follow You.

Help us to be known by You fully, deeply, and truly.

May our lives reflect the love, humility, and surrender that come from bowing before Your throne.

Lead us in the Way everlasting.

In Your Son’s  precious name, Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
