“Two Roads Before Us”
Every person alive – breathing, thinking, deciding – is already walking on a road.
Not someday. Not “when life settles.”
Not “when we get older.”
But Today. Right now.
Scripture makes it clear: There are only two roads, and each has a destination. Jesus Himself described them like this – A narrow way that few choose, leading to life and a broad way that many choose, leading to destruction.
(Matthew 7:13-14)
Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it. Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Heaven and hell are not metaphors.
Heaven and hell are not symbols. Heaven and hell are not ideas. Heaven and hell are real places, and every step we take in this life is moving us toward one or the other.
One of the clearest pictures Jesus ever gave is the story of the rich man and Lazarus. (Luke 16:19-31)
It is not a parable about money. It is a revelation about eternity. Two men who lived two very different lives. One lived in comfort and one in suffering. But when they died, everything reversed.
Lazarus was carried into comfort, peace, and rest and the rich man opened his eyes in torment, fully conscious, fully aware, fully remembering his life and fully unable to change his destination. He begged for relief, he begged for mercy, and he
begged for someone to warn his family.
But the road he had chosen in life had already delivered him to its end.
This message is simple and sobering.
Once eternity begins, the road can not be changed. The time to choose is now while breath is still in our lungs.
Have you ever heard this ? –
“Living a life believing and finding out it never mattered…or living a life not believing and finding out it’s too late.”
(I think about this all the time.)
If heaven were not real, and we lived our life in faith, obedience, love, repentance, and hope – we would still have lived the most meaningful, purposeful, peace-filled life possible.
But if heaven is real – and we lived our life rejecting God, ignoring God’s Word, and choosing our own way then at the end, when breath leaves our body, we would discover the truth when it is too late to change it.
That is why the narrow way/road – is the way least traveled. Because it requires surrender. It requires obedience. It requires humility. And it requires choosing God over ourself. But it is the only road that leads home.
As we live and breathe, we are choosing.
Not by our feelings. Not by our intentions.
Not by our opinions. But by the direction of our life. Heaven is real and hell is real.
And every step we take is moving us toward one or the other.
Choose wisely. Choose intentionally.
Choose the road least traveled, the road that leads to life eternal.
We have been given the road map, dont miss your turn.
Oh, how God loves us ❤️
Dear Father in heaven,
You have set before us life and death, blessing and curse, heaven and hell.
You have given us breath today so we can choose wisely.
Open our eyes to see the road we are on.
Awaken our hearts to the reality of eternity.
Break every deception that tells us we have time, or that our choices do not matter.
Lead us to repentance, to obedience, to surrender, and to the narrow road that leads to life eternal.
Let every reader feel Your call today clear, gentle, and unmistakable.
And may we walk faithfully until the day we hear, “Well done.”
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
