“Don’t Worry, Trust”

Worry gives us just another opportunity to trust God.

Most of the time, we do not even realize how quickly worry sneaks in. Our minds start running, imagining every possible outcome, jumping to conclusions before we have all the facts, and weighing us down with endless what ifs. Before long, our thoughts are exhausted, our hearts are heavy, and our peace feels far away.

But here is the truth…
Worry does not change the character of God.
But grasping the character of God can change how we handle our worries.

Worry leads us toward fear and stress.
But God leads us toward trust and rest.

We forget how deeply He loves us.
We forget how closely He watches over us. We forget that He already knows what we need before we ask.

Yet God never forgets us. He never stops caring. And He never stops working on our behalf.

Worry steals our peace and joy.
God gives us peace and joy abundantly.

Psalm 34:4
“I sought the LORD, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.”
>When we turn to God, He responds.
He does not ignore our fear.
He rescues us from it.

Psalm 56:3
“Whenever I am afraid, I will trust in You.”
>Fear is not failure. Fear is a signal to lean into God.

1 Peter 5:7
“Casting all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you.”
>God does not tolerate our worries.
He invites us to give them to Him.

Philippians 4:6–7
“Be anxious for nothing… and the peace of God… will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”
God’s peace does not just comfort us.
It guards us.

There was a woman who once carried a heavy backpack everywhere she went.

Inside were her worries. Big ones, small ones, imagined ones, and old ones she should have let go of years ago.

She prayed, but she never set the backpack down.

She asked God for peace, but she kept her worries zipped tightly inside.

One day she finally stopped walking, exhausted.

She opened the backpack and poured everything out before God.

Every fear, every burden, every unanswered question.

And something unexpected happened.

The weight lifted. Her steps felt lighter.
Her heart felt steadier. And nothing in her circumstances had changed.
But she had changed.

Because she finally trusted God with what she had been trying to carry all alone.

This is what God invites us into every day.

Not a life without trouble, but a life where we do not carry trouble by ourselves.

If we could only understand.
Worry is not a sign that we are weak.
It is a sign that we need God.

God’s character is steady even when our emotions are not.

We can release what we can not control because God never loses control.

Our peace and joy are not earned.
They are given to us by God.

Our trust grows when we hand God the things we were never meant to carry.

Oh, how God loves us..

Dear Father in Heaven,

Thank You for this beautiful Friday morning.

Thank You for my family, my friends, and for every way You provide for us.

Thank You for watching over us and giving me the privilege of sharing Your Word with those I love.

Father, You see every worry we carry,
spoken and unspoken.

You understand the thoughts that run through our minds and the fears that try to settle in our hearts.

Thank You that Your character never changes, even when our emotions do.

Thank You that You care deeply about every detail of our lives.

Father, help us release every worry into Your hands.

Teach us to trust You instead of rehearsing the “what ifs.”

Remind us that Your peace is stronger than our fear and Your joy is greater than anything that tries to steal it.

When our minds begin to race, pull us back into Your presence.

When we feel overwhelmed, steady us with Your love.

Be with us today. Watch over us, protect us, and guide us in the paths that honor You.

Let Your face shine upon us, and let Your love fill our hearts with peace and rest.

We love You, Father.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you
and so do I
