“Love More Precious Than Silver and Gold”
This is what a sweet young woman sent me… her words touched my heart.
She said, ” it makes me cry how life is just such a huge spiral of human events, and how absolutely and deeply we all need to be loved and feel loved. It is profound and heartbreaking, and beautiful all at the same time. I truly believe we deserve to go through this lifetime knowing this kind of love. I am so thankful for the patience, support, and love that you have always shown me. You have never given up on me. even when I distance myself, or I’m mentally exhausted, or I make a choice you
don’t love, you’ve always been there to pray for me, listen to me, and give me wise advice even when you know I don’t always take it.”…
So this is where this study comes from today. I want to talk about the nature of love God designed for human relationships.
And how we all deserve to know this kind of love…
The love between a husband and wife, a parent and child, siblings, or lifelong friends is not accidental.
It is all part of God’s design.
Scripture shows that human love is meant to be a living reflection of God’s covenant love.
Like a husband and wife mirror Christ and the Church. (Ephesians 5:25–33).
Like parents mirror the Father’s compassion. (Psalm 103:13).
Like siblings mirror unity and shared inheritance. (Psalm 133:1).
Like friends mirror steadfast loyalty. (Proverbs 17:17).
This kind of love is costly, enduring, and protective. It is not measured in silver or gold because it can not be bought, replaced, or manufactured.
It is formed through shared burdens, forgiveness, patience, and sacrifice.
Silver and Gold can purchase comfort, but they can not purchase belonging.
They can buy a house, but not a home. They can buy entertainment, but not joy. And they can buy medicine, but not healing of the heart.
Which is why this love- “human love”
is more precious than silver and gold.
Human love is precious because it anchors us when life spirals. It teaches us loyalty, endurance, and mercy. It reminds us we are not walking alone. And it reflects the heart of our Father toward His children.
This is why Scripture warns that in the last days, the love of many will wax cold (Matthew 24:12).
That cold love is a sign of a world drifting from God. And this warm, human love…
is a sign of hearts still rooted in God.
We must hold on to this love.
The enemy’s strategy is division, bitterness, and distance.
But the enemy can not destroy what God builds… the enemy can only tempt us to loosen our grip.
The enemy uses bitterness- small, little offenses that grow into very large walls.
The enemy uses resentment- unspoken hurts that poison closeness.
The enemy uses disagreements- moments of tension that become permanent separation.
And the enemy uses weariness- emotional exhaustion that makes us withdraw from each other.
This is why Scripture repeatedly commands us to guard our hearts, forgive quickly, and pursue peace.
Love must be protected, not assumed.
Holding onto one another is not weakness. It is obedience.
And In these last days as the years grow darker, love becomes more essential, not less.
Jesus taught that enduring faith is tied to enduring love.
The world may grow unnatural, but God’s people must grow more tender, more loyal, more intentional.
Like these words that were spoke through this letter, “life is just such a huge spiral of human events, and we absolutely and deeply need to be loved and feel loved.
It is profound and heartbreaking, and beautiful all at the same time. I truly believe we deserve to go through this lifetime knowing this kind of love.”
If we are to endure, we must keep our loved ones close. And not lose hope in Gods promises and His kingdom to come.
Speak life instead of criticism to each other. And refuse bitterness. Pray over relationships, all relationships.
Protect unity. And cherish the ones God gave us.
This is how we reflect the Father’s heart.
The same love He showed through His Son Jesus, who held onto us even when we were distant, exhausted, or stubborn.
Hold on to each other with gratitude. Hold on to each other with loyalty. Hold on to each other with remembrance. Hold on to each other with forgiveness, and with blessing.
Because human love is more precious than Silver or Gold. And we all deserve to know this kind of love…
Oh, how God loves us ❤️
Dear Father in heaven,
I thank You for the gift of love.
The love that binds families, strengthens marriages, restores siblings, and comforts the weary.
Father, teach us to treasure this love more than silver and gold.
Guard our hearts from bitterness, resentment, and division.
Help us to hold tightly to the ones You have placed in our lives, especially as the days grow darker and the world grows cold.
Let our homes be places of warmth, forgiveness, and unity.
Let our relationships reflect Your heart and Your covenant faithfulness.
Strengthen us to endure, to love deeply, and to walk in the example Your Son Jesus gave us.
Bless our families, our children, our spouses, our siblings, and our friends.
Keep us close to one another and close to You.
In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.
Have a blessed say
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
