This has been on my heart and mind all night long and I feel that God wants me to share this with each of you.
The enemy has a goal. It is to keep us distracted, to steal from us, to decieve us, to cause us to do things we know we should not do and then for us to die in our sin.
Paul said in:
Romans 7:15-20
I do not understand what I do.
For what I want to do I do not do,
but what I hate I do.
And if I do, what I do not want to do,
I agree that the law is good.
As it is, it is no longer I myself who do it,
but it is sin living in me.
For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature.
For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out.
For I do not do the good I want to do,
but the evil I do not want to do,
this I keep on doing.
Now if I do what I do not want to do,
it is no longer I who do it,
but it is sin living in me that does it.
Paul says at the end of this chapter:
Romans 7:21-25
So I find this law at work:
Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me.
For in my inner being, I delight in God’s law;
but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.
What a wretched man I am!
Who will rescue me from this body which is subject to death?
Thanks be to God, who delivers me through Jesus Christ our Lord!
So then, I myself in my mind am a slave to God’s law, but in my sinful nature I am a slave to the law of sin.
Scripture says this at:
Romans 8:5-7
Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires.
But those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires.
The mind governed by the flesh is death.
But the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace.
The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so.
Those who are in the realm of the flesh can not please God.
Romans 8:12-14
Therefore, brothers and sisters, we have an obligation, but it is not to the flesh, to live according to it.
For if you live according to the flesh, you will die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live.
-When the Bible tells us that we should die to ourselves daily it is speaking about the flesh and the sin that lives within us.
This is a real struggle for all of us.
But it is a struggle that can be overcome and conquered through our God.
This is something the enemy never wanted you to know. Because he knows if God is fighting this with you than he has lost in his plan to destroy you.
I lift each of you in prayer today and ask that God fills you with His peace and joy.
May You all be blessed.
In Jesus name. Amen
