“Love Remembers”

Love does not stop remembering.
And because of that, neither do we.

Some memories come soft and warm, like a hand on the shoulder. Some come sharp, like a breath caught in the chest, and
some come with that long sigh- the kind that says, “I’m grateful… and I still ache.”

None of this is wrong. None of it means we are stuck. It means we loved deeply, and we still do.

There are days when the weight of missing our loved ones settles quietly over the heart.

We remember birthdays, holidays, the sound of their laughter, the way they filled a room.  A familiar scent. A song we haven’t heard in years.

Our hearts keep a calendar, and circles dates we never wrote down.

Some memories make us smile, some bring tears, and some draw out a long sigh from a place words can not reach.

This is not weakness. It’s love.
Love remembers, love lingers, and love refuses to forget the ones who shaped our lives.

Love leaves an imprint that time cannot erase. And though our loved one sleeps now, waiting for that great resurrection morning, the love we carry keeps them close until we meet them again.

God never asks us to pretend the ache is not real, and even Jesus Himself wept about  the death of his friend Lazurus, even knowing resurrection was moments away. His tears tell us something important: grief and hope can stand in the same room.

When we remember our loved ones, we are not slipping backward. We are honoring the imprint they left on our lives.

Their stories, their laughter, their faith, their flaws, their victories, all of it becomes part of the testimony God is still writing in us.

And though they sleep now, they sleep in Christ. Their story is not over. Their rest is not the end. Their memory is blessed because their future is secure.

One day, the sighs will be replaced with songs.  One day, the tears will be wiped away by the hand of God Himself.
And one day, the reunion will be louder than the grief ever was.

Until then, we remember with tenderness, with honesty, and with hope.

Oh, how God loves us ❤️

Dear Father in heaven,

I come to You with a heart that remembers.

Some days the memories make me smile, and some days they make my eyes fill with tears.

You, Father, see every one of those moments. You understand every sigh that rises from a place too deep for words.

Thank You for the loved ones who has shaped our lives, for the laughter they brought us, for the lessons they taught us,  and for the love that still lingers long after their earthly journey ended.

Father, when the ache of missing them feels heavy, wrap us in Your comfort.

When memories come unexpectedly, steady our hearts with Your peace.

When grief whispers that we have lost too much, remind us that nothing in You is ever truly lost but only waiting for resurrection morning.

Teach us to honor their memory with gratitude and not despair. Teach us to carry their legacy with gentleness and not fear.

And teach us to rest in the promise that one day, every tear will be wiped away, and every separation will be healed in Your presence.

Until that day, hold us close, strengthen our hope, and let Your love be the anchor of our remembering.

In Your Son’s precious name, Amen.
