“A Way of Escape”

1 Corinthians 10:13
No temptation has over taken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

This scripture is not a promise that temptation will be removed from our path.
It is God’s assurance that in every temptation God provides a way of escape, and that escape begins the moment our heart agrees with His Word.

1 Corinthians 10:13
“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful…”

This is where the hope begins.
Not with our strength, not with our track record, not with our willpower, but with God’s faithfulness.

Temptation is not a sign that something is wrong with us. Temptation is not proof that we are weak or unspiritual or failing.
Temptation is part of the human experience — “common to man.”

But the moment temptation appears, something else appears with it.
(God’s way of escape.)

Temptation is not sin. But temptation becomes sin when we embrace it instead of escaping it.

Every believer, strong or struggling faces moments where our flesh pulls us, our mind wanders, our emotions flare, or our old habits whisper to us.

But God never leaves us trapped.

He does not say:
“We will never be tempted.”

He says: “
He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we are able.”

Temptation may knock, but God controls the door.

The moment we feel the pull…
the moment we sense the wrongness…
the moment our spirit whispers,
“This is not right…”  that is the first step of escape.

And conviction is not condemnation.
It is God’s gentle hand turning our face back toward Him.

When our heart is open to God’s Word and our mind is surrendered to His Will, we recognize temptation for what it is.

Temptation is a trap. Temptation is a lie. Temptation is a counterfeit. A moment designed to pull us away from the One who loves us.

And God says,
“Here is the way out, take it.”

We live in a world full of blame and excuses: “The devil made me do it.
If they had not done that, I would not have reacted this way. I was tired, I was angry or
I couldn’t help it.”

But Scripture removes every excuse.

God says:
“I made a way of escape.”

That means,
We could have walked away.
We could have chosen differently.
We could have obeyed the Spirit.

Not because we are strong, but because God is faithful.

When we stand before the One who gave us every opportunity to choose righteousness, our excuses will crumble like dust.

We know the temptations we face daily.
The attitudes, the thoughts, the habits,
the reactions, the secret struggles,
the compromises, the words spoken in anger and the desires that pull at our flesh.

God does not point these out to condemn us. He points them out to free us.

And repentance is not punishment.
It is the doorway back into peace.

So when we confess, when we turn, when we surrender, God meets us with mercy, strength, and restoration.

God’s Faithfulness is our escape route.

The escape is not always dramatic.
Sometimes it is a soft whisper that says:
“Walk away. Don’t answer that. Turn it off.
Be still. Say nothing or choose Me.”

Sometimes it is a Scripture rising in our heart. Sometimes it is a sudden awareness: “This is wrong.”
Sometimes it is the Spirit tightening our chest, urging us to stop.

Every escape route is an invitation to victory. And every victory strengthens our walk with God.

Oh, how God loves us ❤️

Dear Father in Heaven,

Thank You for Your faithfulness.

Thank You for never leaving us alone in our temptations.

Thank You for always providing a way of escape.

Thank You for loving us enough to convict us when we begin to drift.

Father, open our eyes to recognize temptation the moment it appears.

Soften our hearts to hear Your voice.

Strengthen our will to choose the path You provide.

Remove every excuse from us, and replace it with a desire to walk in truth.

Forgive us for the moments we have ignored Your escape route.

Cleanse our hearts, renew our minds, and restore our fellowship with You.

Teach us to walk in righteousness.

Teach us to honor You in our choices.

And teach us to trust Your faithfulness more than our weakness.

May we feel Your conviction.

May we feel Your mercy.

And may we feel Your power to overcome.

In Your Son’s precious name,
Amen.

Have a blessed day
God loves you ❤️
and so do I ❤️
